Arvada Structure Fire

At 13:50 on July 13th, 2023 Arvada Fire Protection District STAR 51 requested from Jeffcom a full response for a structure fire with heavy black smoke and flames showing from the Alpha side of a home in the 8400 block of Yarrow St. Battalion 52 arrived to a well involved structure fire with two houses involved and took command. Engine 55 arrived and established their own water supply with Medic 56 and and started fire attack with the deck gun on the main fire structure. Command requested additional engine and truck to the scene. Battalion 51 arrived and assigned as Command to the Bravo exposure with Truck 54 preforming the primary search and Engine 1 with a 1 3/4 line in. Engine 53 and Engine 51 assisted Engine 55 with fire attack. Crews got the fire under control and started an extended overhaul and investigation. Extensive fire damage to both homes with no injuries reported. American Red Cross was dispatched to assist homeowners. The cause is under investigation.
