Franktown Barn Fire

On November 27th, 2023 at approximately 04:00 Franktown Fire Protection District was dispatched to a bar fire at 854 N. Russellville Rd. Crews arrived on scene, observed heavy fire and called for additional resources. Firefighters from multiple departments were on scene for several hours extinguishing the fire and mopping up. Nine horses were killed in the fire and a caretaker was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
