Lyons Defensive House Fire

On April 13th, 2023 at 14:49 Boulder County Communications dispatched Lyons Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District, Hygiene Fire Protection District, Saint Vrain Rapid Intervention Team and AMR to a residential structure fire on Longmont Dam Rd. west of Lyons along the North St. Vrain. Engine 4011 arrived to a single-story walk out with smoke showing from the garage and chimney area and pulled an attack line in. 4063 arrived and assumed command and Tender 4141 started water supply ops. Firefighters worked heavy fire in the defensive operations and more agencies were requested to help with structural firefighting, tender relays, wildland protection, and air rehab. Several water tenders were requested due to no fire hydrants in the area and crews kept the fire from becoming a wildland fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District covered the Lyons and surrounding fire districts during the incident.
