Parker Clubhouse Drive Apartment Fire
South Metro Apartment Fire
At 08:32 on August 1st, 2023 South Metro Fire Rescue received a water flow alarm from the Parker Hilltop Apartments at 19675 Clubhouse Drive. That alarm signal indicates the fire sprinkler system has activated. While Engine 41 and Engine 46 were responding, residents dialed 911 and reported an odor of smoke, then visible smoke from a second-floor apartment. With that information, additional resources were dispatched. Upon arrival, crews found a working fire being controlled by the sprinkler system and advanced a hose line to fully extinguish it.
Firefighters searched the apartments and found two dogs with smoke inhalation. They were treated with oxygen, then taken to a nearby animal hospital by their owner. Two residents were evaluated by Fire Medics on scene and did not need to be transported for medical treatment. Crews were on scene for a couple hours working to ventilate smoke, mitigate water damage and salvage personal property inside. Fire Investigators determined that a vape pen being charged ignited and started this fire. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
