Severance Garage Fire

On July 29th, 2023 at 20:16 Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue and Eaton Fire Protection District was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 400 block of Timber Ridge Parkway in Severance. Crews arrived to a fully involved garage fire with extension through the roof and attic into the home. Solar panels covering most of the garage which caught fire before crews arrived contributed to fire intensity and spread, including into several trees on the property. Severance Police Department, with the assistance of Windsor Police Department helped evacuate nearby homes as a precaution. All occupants were able to exit the house and there were no civilian nor emergency responder injuries and the fire did not spread into any neighboring homes. The family’s pet cat and turtle survived. Windsor-Severance stations were backfilled by engine crews from Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and Greeley Fire Department while Windsor-Severance units were on scene.
