Arvada 2nd Alarm Commercial Fire

On July 18th, 2023 at 15:51 Jeffcom 911 dispatched Arvada Fire Protection District with Fairmount Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue to a reported commercial structure fire at Rocky Mountain Bottle Company, 10619 W. 50th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. 911 caller reported the building was on fire from the first floor and no parties trapped. Engine 52 arrived on scene to the front gates to a large bottle facility with reports of active fire in the basement. Engine 17 reported smoke in the area and Engine 52 redirected to Alpha side of the building with evacuations underway and set-up their own water supply and started fire attack with Medic 52. Engine 17 and Truck 31 arrived on the Alpha side of the building and assisted with fire attack and a second water supply. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command and assigned SAM 52 as medical group with multiple victims needing medical with possible smoke inhalation. Command requested a 2nd alarm due to the size of the building as a precaution, bringing additional resources to the scene. Crews got the fire under control at 16:11 and started an extended mop up. The Rocky Mountain Bottle Company is an affiliate company of Molson/Coors. Due to the size of the complex and the location of the fire, crews had to navigate the best entry point for fire attack. Additionally, since the manufacturing plant makes bottles and other items, crews needed to be ready to change their fire tactics depending on what was on fire.
