Arvada Commercial Fire

On April 24th, 2024 at 18:34 Arvada Fire Protection District Engine 51 responded to alarms going off at the Marcella Manor, 6555 Schneider Way. Jeffcom received multiple alarms going off in the building and additional RP reporting smoke in the hallway on the 5th floor of the south tower and the call was upgraded to a structure fire response. Engine 51 arrived to a large five-story multi-family structure with nothing showing and started the investigation. During the investigation, Engine 51 found heavy smoke on the 5th floor stairwell and connected to the stand pipe for fire attack with Medic 51. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 55 to assist with evacuations on the south stairwell doors and Rescue 52 with search on the 5th floor. Engine 53 arrived and started with search on the 4th floor, Medic 55 assigned as medical and Truck 31 established the water supply and supported the stand pipe. Crews found fire that was contained to one unit in the building on the 5th floor. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
