Byers Vegetation Fire

On July 3rd, 2024 at approximately 15:45 Byers Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire on the southeast corner of E. 152nd Ave. and Prospect Lane. Units arrive on scene, found a fairly large vegetation fire and called for additional assistance from the I-70 corridor. Crews were on scene about two hours extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported and official believe that the fire may have been caused by lightning.
