A little before noon, on July 12th, 2024 multiple fire agencies were dispatched to the area of Mallory Cave just outside of Boulder to the Dinosaur Fire (Green Mountain Fire). The fire began to torch in trees and seemed to be spreading quickly. Smoke was seen for miles as it is in a prominent area outside of Boulder. This area is a popular area for people to hike in the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks. Latest updated on the fire as of July 13th, 2024, it is roughly in the area of 3.5 acres and 35% contained with no threat to the city of Boulder. With the help of many fire agencies on the ground and multiple air resources, help kelp the fire from spreading to any populated areas. Fire lines were set up around the fire overnight and over 70 firefighters will continue working throughout the day of July 13th, 2024 until the fire is out.
