Evergreen Peaceful Hills Road House Fire
Evergreen Structure Fire
On February 26th, 2024 at 17:53 Evergreen Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 6800 block of Peaceful Hills Rd. Jeffcom 911 advised that 911 caller reporting smoke inside and flames in the kitchen with pets inside trapped. Engine 132 en route requested Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District and Elk Creek Fire Protection District for mutual-aid. Jefferson County Sheriff on scene advising working fire with the kitchen fully involved and all occupants evacuated except for 2 dogs trapped. The call was upgraded to a confirmed working structure fire. Crews arrived to a large two-story single-family residential with heavy smoke and flames showing on both floors of the home. Engine 132 pulled a line in for fire attack in the offensive strategy and secured their own water supply. Crews got the stubborn fire under control after cutting ventilation holes on the roof to release some of the super-heated smoke. No injures were reported but some of the family’s pets died in the fire. The cause is under investigation. Additional information was provided by Evergreen Fire/Rescue
