Kipling Street Apartment Fire

At 19:22 on September 12th, 2024 Arvada Fire Protection District, Fairmount Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 4600 block of Kipling St. in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom 911 advised of multiple callers and heavy smoke in one apartment. Rescue 52 arrived to a large three-story garden level apartment building with a confirmed working fire from floor 2 and started the primary search with Medic 52. Engine 51 pulled a line and started fire attack, Engine 16 secured the water supply and Battalion 30 assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 16 finished the water supply, pulled a 2nd line to the 3rd floor with Medic 17 to check for extension. Crews got control of the fire under control on the 2nd floor in the fire unit. One patient was treat on scene for smoke inhalation. The fire cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District
