Arvada Commercial Fire

On June 9th at 00:54 Arvada Fire Protection District with Fairmount Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported commercial structure fire at the Rocky Mountain Bottle Company, 10619 W. 50th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom advised that 911 caller reporting the building was on fire and two employees not account for. Battalion 52 with smoke in the air from Station 2 and Rescue 52 arrived on scene to a large glass manufacturing facility with heavy smoke showing and started the investigation in the offensive strategy. Battalion 52 arrived and assumed command with Rescue 52 starting fire attack with Engine 56. Crews found a malfunction had caused hot liquid glass to spill in the facility, putting out heavy smoke and fire. All employees at the facility were evacuated and accounted for. Five workers and one responder were evaluated medically on scene but were not transported. More than 50 firefighters at the incident battled hot, dark and noisy conditions. Crews also had to stretch and carry hose line over large distances to reach the seat of the fire within the facility. The fire was fully put out hours later.
