Lyons Radio Familiarization Training The Lyons Fire Protection District held radio familiarization training at Station 1 in Lyons on May 2nd, 2026. New volunteers spent their morning working on radio operations including arriving on scene, receiving assignments and reporting back their progress. The combination department formed in 1976 and covers 66 square miles in Boulder and Larimer Counties.

Boulder County Wildland Fire Training The Boulder County Fire Training Consortium held wildland fire training at Allens Lake on May 2nd, 2026. Crews practiced evaluating homes for structure protection, drafting and hydrant operations. Firefighters from Boulder, Boulder County Parks, Boulder County Sheriff, Boulder Mountain, Boulder Rural, Hygiene, Lefthand, Mountain View, Nederland, Sugar Loaf and 4 Mile participated in the training.
