Thornton Safety Day Thornton Fire Department held their sixth annual Fire Safety Day at Station 5 on July 23rd, 2018. Firefighters in full bunker gear, explained their job and how they fight fires to the children, and they got to tour the fire station, view the fire engine and learn all about all the tools and equipment.

North-West Pancake Breakfast The North-West Fire Protection District held their annual pancake breakfast at Station 41 in Alma. “North America’s highest incorporated town” on July 22nd, 2018.  The department invited the community to meet the firefighters and enjoy breakfast, Alma Police Department also was on hand.

CSP Cops & Cars Colorado State Patrol hosted the 1st Annual Cars & Cops car show on July 22nd, 2018 at the Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood. Charity fund raiser for Fallen officers and Special Olympics of Colorado. All types of cars were on display including CSP, Lakewood Police Department, Ambulance Service and lots more.  

Arvada Station 5 Open House Arvada Fire Protection District held their open house at Station 5 (Station 55) on July 21st, 2018. The community came out meet with the firefighters, tour the station, see the fire engine and medic, learn about fire safety, tour the station and play games.

Victor Pancake Breakfast The Victor Volunteer Fire Department held their annual pancake breakfasts on July 21st and July 22nd, 2018 in conjunction with the town’s annual Gold Rush Days celebration.  The community came out to meet with firefighters, check out the apparatus and enjoy breakfast before partaking in other activities throughout the small mining town four miles south of Cripple …

Quint 151 Dedication Castle Rock Fire Rescue dedicated their new Quint 151 at the Downtown Station 151 on July 16th, 2018 with a wetdown and push-in ceremony. The Pierce Velocity 105′ heavy duty ladder truck is one of two delivered to the agency earlier this year.

Combined ARFF State Certified Academy The 1st ever Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue Combined ARFF State Certified Academy was held from July 9th to July 14th, 2018 with the final at Fort Carson Fire & Emergency Services.

Ride for Life The Ride for Life First Responder Poker Run was held on July 14th, 2018 and hosted by Dirty Dogs Roadhouse and Wrigleys Chicago Bar & Grill in Golden. Black Forest Open House Black Forest Fire Protection District held their annual open house at Station 1 on July 14th, 2018.  The department invited the community join them for lunch, tour the apparatus, and learn valuable safety information.  UCHealth LifeLine, Flight for Life and El Paso County Sheriff participated in the festivities.

Coed Youth Explorer’s Camp Denver Fire Department held the Coed Youth Explorer’s Camp on July 12th, 2018 at the Training Center, with over 40 participants that spent time learning the value of disciple, dedication and determination on the fireground which included a car fire and more.

Denver Water Rescue Training Denver Fire Department firefighters trained at a local reservoir for water rescue training on June 24th, 2018. Crews worked water rescue skills including dive rescue, sonar training from the rescue boat.

Annual July 4th Fishing Derby The annual fishing derby and BBQ on July 4th, 2018 at City Park Lake on W. 104th Ave. Westminster Fire Department firefighters cooked a BBQ lunch, and kids also competed for prizes for biggest fish and the first fish that was caught. 

Gold Hill Pancake Breakfast Gold Hill Volunteer Fire Department held a pancake breakfast at the Gold Hill School on July 4th, 2018.  The community came out in force to support the department, enjoy a great breakfast, and help celebrate Independence Day!  Firefighters, other community groups and also Four Mile Fire Protection District participated in a parade through town after the breakfast.

Indian Hills Pancake Breakfast Indian Hills Fire Rescue held their annual pancake breakfast on July 4th, 2018. The community came out to enjoy pancakes, auto extrication demonstration, AirLife landing, tour a fire engine, parade and more.

Security Pancake Breakfast Security Fire Department held their annual pancake breakfast at Station 1 on July 4th, 2018. The community came out to meet with firefighters, tour the fire engines, medical helicopter landings, and to enjoy the pancakes. Byers Spaghetti Dinner Byers Fire Protection District held their 2nd annual spaghetti and open house at Station 71 in Byers on July 3rd, 2018. The community came out to enjoy dinner, meet with the firefighters, check out the fire engines and help support the fire department.
