West Douglas County Fire Protection District (WDCFPD), all-volunteer department founded in 1980 and covering 56 square miles in Douglas & Jefferson Counties including the towns and areas of Cherokee Ranch, Daniels Park, Elephant Rock, Elk Canyon, Hockaday Heights, Horseshoe Ranch, Indian Creek, Jarre Canyon, Lambert Ranch, Moonridge, Nighthawk Hills, Oak Valley, Pike National Forest, Pine Nook, Plum Creek, Rampart Range, Sedalia, Spurcewood, Stoneridge, Sunset Point, Twin Cedar, Wildcat Mountain.
