Lakewood Station 5

Station 5 – Applewood

Fire Station 5 was located at 14055 W. 20th Ave. and built in 1967, originally the Lakewood-Mountair Fire Department Station 5. This station served as Lakewood Fire Department from 1964 to 1991, and then merged with Bancroft Fire Protection District and served as the Lakewood-Bancroft Fire Protection District until 1995 when they changed to West Metro Fire Rescue. This station was replaced at the same location in 2011 and is currently West Metro Fire Rescue Station 5. This station originally was within the boundaries of the Applewood Fire Protection District, before joining Lakewood Fire Department in 1963.

1984 Ford C-800 / E-One 500 gallon water tank / 1000 gpm pump, also ran as Pumper 5 and a reserve engine status for many years with Lakewood-Bancroft Fire Protection District and a few years with West Metro Fire Rescue before retiring.
