North Routt Fire Protection District

North Routt Fire Protection District (NRFPD), covering 441 square miles in Routt County (Colorado) including the areas of Clark, Cottonwood Gulch, Elk Ridge, Elk River, Glen Eden, Greenville Creek, Greenville Mine, Hahn’s Peak, Mill Creek, Reed Creek, Rock Creek, Round Mountain & Vesta Verde Guest Ranch. North Routt Fire Protection District officially founded in 1981.

North Routt Fire Protection District boundaries of the service area are mile marker 7 on Routt County Rd. 129 for the southern border, the national forest on either side of Routt County Rd. 129 for eastern and western boundaries, and the intersection of Routt County Rd. and Forest Rd. 550 for the northern boundary. NRFPD also serves as first responder to calls outside of its official district boundaries north to the Wyoming State line, east to the Continental Divide, and west to the Moffat County line which adds 250 square miles.

North Routt Fire Protection District has mutual-aid or auto-aid agreements with the Oak Creek Fire Protection District, Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue, West Routt Fire Protection District & Yampa Fire Protection District.

North Routt Fire Protection District is dispatched by Routt County Communications.
