Yampa Fire Protection District
Yampa Fire Protection District (YFPD), covering 427 square miles in Routt County (Colorado) including the areas of Bear River, Devils Grave Mesa, Haymeadow, Hunt Creek, Lawson Creek, Little White Snake Creek, Meadowbrook Creek, Phippsburg, Phillips Creek, Rich Ditch, Routt Medicine Bow National Forest, Wheeler Creek, Whipple Creek, Yampa River & Yampa Valley. Yampa Fire Protection District was founded in 1949 as the Yampa Volunteer Fire Department. The fire protection district was formed in 1982 when the Yampa Volunteer Fire Department and the South Routt County Ambulance merged together.
Yampa Fire Protection District has mutual-aid or auto-aid agreements with the Craig Fire/Rescue, North Routt Fire Protection District, Oak Creek Fire Protection District, Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue, West Routt Fire Protection District & Yampa Valley Regional Airport ARFF.
Yampa Fire Protection District is dispatched by Routt County Communications.
