Teays Valley Fire Department (TVFD), located in Putnam County (West Virginia) including the areas of Amos Fly Ash Pond, Beechwood Estates, Bills Creek, Canyon Gulch, Celebration Valley, Eagle Run, Eastbrook, Great Teays, Hampton, Hickory Hill, Hidden Valley, Hillsdale, Hillsdale Circle, Kanawha River, Kens Lake, Lake Chadesa, Laurel Ridge, Lazy Bones Farm, Little Hurricane Creek Little Scary Creek, Litton Heights, Long Branch, Lynn Knolls, Mappleclyffe, Maplewood, Missy Valley, Morrison Fork, Mt Vernon Heights, Oakridge, Poplar Fork, Ranch Lake, Rockstep Run, Rocky Step, Sleepy Hollow, Scary Creek, Scott Depot, South Poplar Fork, Teays, Teays Hollow, Villa Green & Weatherfield Crossing.

In 1963 the Teays Valley Lions Club decided that the area needed a local Fire Department. After long discussions it was decided to sponsor the beginning of a volunteer fire department. On July 20, 1964 the Teays Valley Volunteer Fire Department was formed.
