Brighton Residential Defensive Fire

At approximately 18:05 on June 12th, 2025 Adcom 911 dispatched Brighton Fire Rescue District, Thornton Fire Department and South Adams County Fire Department to a possible residential structure fire in the 9800 block of E. 138th Place. Engine 76 requested a major incident tone with smoke in the air. Engine 76 arrived to a medium single-family single story and pulled 1 2/3 for defensive fire conditions and a 2nd alarm was requested due to significant fire involvement and high wind conditions. One individual was rescued from the residence and transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Crews worked a wind driven fire with the entire structure involved and a roof collapse. Tender 55 set-up with the water supply with Tender 52 and Tender 53. Crews worked diligently to protect a neighboring home that was threatened by the fire and the vegetation in the area. Despite the challenging wind conditions, their efforts successfully prevented any damage to the adjacent structure. Several cats and kittens were also rescued from the residence.
