Black Forest Outbuilding Fire

At 00:22 on May 17th, 2025, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched Black Forest Fire Protection District, Falcon Fire Protection District, Monument Fire Protection District, Cimarron Hills Fire Department, and Peyton Fire Protection District to the area of Snow Mass Dr for a possible structure fire. While responding, units saw a visible glow coming from the area and upgraded to a working fire. On scene, crews found a fully involved barn on fire off of Herring Rd in Black Forest. Engine 712 and began fire attack, while Engine 711 managed water supply after a tender shuttle system was established. Once firefighters knocked down the fire, they confirmed the was no injuries to any of the residents or animals living in the barn. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Pikes Peak Region Fire Investigative Unit. Additional information provided by Black Forest Fire Rescue.
