Boulder Colorado Ave 2nd Alarm
Boulder 2nd Alarm
On February 12th, 2025 around 08:30 Boulder Police & Fire Communications dispatched Boulder Fire-Rescue Department to a fire alarm for the report of haze in 1905 Colorado Ave. on the University of Colorado (CU) campus. Engine 142 arrived to a large commercial building with nothing showing and started the investigation. Crews found light haze in the lower levels with reports of similar conditions in nearby buildings. Engine 142 requested a 2nd engine to the scene. Battalion 143 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 141 arrived and assisted with the investigation. Battalion 143 upgraded the response to a “Fill the Box,” and assigned Truck 104 to assisted crews in the basement area. A 2nd alarm was requested to bring in additional units from surrounding agencies. As a precaution, multiple buildings were evacuated. After a thorough search, crews were unable to identify a direct source of the haze, likely attributing it to a mechanical malfunction. No fire was found and no injures reported. Mountain View Fire Rescue, Boulder Rural Fire Rescue and Lafayette Fire Department covered the city during the incident.
