
Clear Creek Canyon Swift Water / Backcountry Rescue
Backcountry Rescue
On June 22nd, 2025 Golden Fire Department and Stadium Medical responded to backcountry rescue near Tunnel # 2 in Clear Creek Canyon. Jeffcom 911 advised two hikers were stuck down by the water and unable to get back up the hill or cross the creek. Due to the complexity of the incident, a swift water response was requested from Arvada Fire Protection District. Four crew members were outfitted in swift water equipment, made contact with the 2 parties, and additional members were able to assist the two parties through a narrow and shallow part of clear creek and up the side of a hill to safety. Both parties were evaluated by Medic 21 personnel. No injuries were found. Information provided by Golden Fire Department
