
Douglas County Cantrell Court Residential Fire
Residential Structure Fire
At 12:35 on June 10th, 2025 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 5800 block of Cantrell Ct. in the Pinery neighborhood of unincorporated Douglas County. Dispatch advised of multiple callers and a possible party inside the house and the call was upgraded the a confirmed residential structure fire. Medic 46 arrived on scene to a large three-story structure with a working fire in the offensive strategy. Engine 43 arrived on the Alpha side of a single-family home and started fire attack with one dog still inside. Engine 46 secured the water supply to Engine 43 and Battalion 4 arrived and assumed command and assigned Medic 41 as medical. Crews worked heavy fire extending from the back patio that spread throughout the structure causing extensive damage. The fire was put under control by 13:21. Medic 41 transported one occupant to a local hospital with unknown injuries. One family dog perished in the fire. A total of 4 adults, 1 cat, 2 dogs, 1 tortoise, 1 iguana, and 1 python were displaced. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and under investigation by the SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office.
