Greeley 3rd Alarm Fire
At approximately 05:30 on April 27, 2025 Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Greeley Fire Department and UC Health EMS to a commercial structure fire located in the 100 block of 9th Ave. in Greeley. Upon arrival, units encountered a large two-story commercial warehouse with significant fire conditions. A second alarm was promptly requested, mobilizing additional GFD units and mutual aid from multiple neighboring agencies. The incident command adopted a defensive firefighting strategy utilizing multiple master streams and aerial apparatus. As the situation evolved, a third alarm was dispatched to provide relief for on-scene crews. The majority of the fire was extinguished within three hours; however, crews remained on scene for over 24 hours monitoring for rekindling. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Hazmat 106 remained activated completing air monitoring for several days after the fire. Eaton Fire Protection District Engine 2301 covered Station 1.
