West Metro Kitchen Fire

On December 17th, 2025 at 15:39 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 12 responded to a possible fire in the 6000 block of S. Garland Way in Kipling Hills with Jeffcom 911 reporting possible burnt food from 911 caller. Engine 12 reported lots of smoke enroute and the called was upgraded to a structure fire response. Engine 12 arrived to heavy smoke showing from the Alpha side and the roof vents of a small two-story single-family home, pulled a 1 3/4 to the Alpha side for fire attack with Medic 12. District 3 arrived and assumed the command in the offensive strategy and assigned South Metro Engine 13 to set-up for the water supply and Rescue 10 with the primary search. Crews found a working fire in the kitchen area which was quickly put under control with no extension. One occupant was evaluated on scene and released with unknown injuries.
