South Metro Basement Fire

On March 16th, 2025 at approximately 11:05 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at 19727 E. Tufts Drive. South Metro Fire Dispatch Center advised responding units that the homeowner’s son had started a fire in a basement toilet with chemicals. Engine 23 arrived on scene and found smoldering debris in a basement bathroom. The debris was taken outside and fully extinguished with a can. Crews were on scene about thirty minutes checking for extension and ventilating the building. No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
