Around 22:50 on August 14th, 2025 Mountain View Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire on Vinca Place in Superior with Boulder County Communications Center receiving multiple calls. Tower 205, Medic 205, and Battalion 205 arrived on scene, they found two homes on fire. The wood fencing in the yard between the homes was also on fire. Because it was determined to be a working structure fire, Battalion 205 called for a “fill the box” bringing Louisville Fire Protection District and Lafayette Fire Department to the incident. Crews were able to get a knock on the fire within about 10 minutes and then spent several hours working on overhaul. One home had 4 people inside when the fire started, all of them were able to get out of the home uninjured. The other home was vacant and about to go on the rental market. The MVFR Fire Marshal, Deputy Chief Webb determined in his investigation that the cause of this fire stems from improperly discarded supplies used to stain wood fencing at the vacant house that was being prepared for the rental market.
