Weld County Large Mulch Fire

 At approximately 11:20 on March 16th, 2025  Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Front Range Fire Rescue to a small vegetation fire in the 7500 block of Weld County Rd. 42 in unincorporated Weld County, with the party reporting mulch piles burning on a neighboring property. Upon arrival crews several large piles of wood chip mulch burning on the approximately 5-acre property. Flames were being fanned by gusty winds. Command requested mutual-aid to include command staff, water tenders, and brush trucks. As of midnight, crews were still on scene using master streams on the fire. No injuries were reported.
