West Metro Fire Investigation

On April 23rd, 2026 at 14:19 Jeffcom 911 dispatch West Metro Fire Rescue, Pleasant View Fire Department & Arvada Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire at 14243 W. Colfax Ave. at the Denver West Village in Lakewood. SAM 1 arrived to a large retail strip mall with nothing showing and started the investigation into the Wine & Design. Engine 6 arrived and went inside to find light smoke from the vents. Engine 5 set-up for the water supply and District 1 arrived and assumed command. Engine 2 arrived and assigned to go to the Charlie side to the maintenance rooms to check for any source. Crews also went to the roof and into several of the business before finding a burnt motor on the HVAC unit which caused the smoke. The rest of the response was cancelled.
