Western Hills Structure Fire

At 18:30 on May 4th, 2014 Adcom 911 dispatched out North Washington Fire Rescue District to a structure fire at 741 Erie St. in Western Hills, and advised RP saying that his barbeque grill exploded and is catching his house on fire. Engine 33 reported smoke showing from Station 33 and Adams County Sheriff on scene with a fully involved structure, Battalion 31 advised dispatch to a working fire and a major incident page. Engine 33 arrived to a single story family structure fully involved with exposure issues. Engine 33 pulled a line to the Alpha side with an offensive strategy. Battalion 31 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo side of the residence. Engine 31 establish a water supply, pulled a 2nd line in for fire attack. Engine 14 laided in from the east, and pulled a line to the Charlie side for defensive attack. Engine 32 arrived and assisted Engine 33 & Medic 33 crews with fire attack. Medic 14 assigned as Rehab. Crews found a shed and fence in the back also on fire. Battalion 31 advised to strike a 2nd Alarm. Engine 14 crew entered the delta exposure with a 1 ¾ line and asked for a piercing nozzle. The side of the house to the east was also damaged in the fire. Engine 71 with Medic 72 pulled a hand line in on the Charlie Delta corner. Crews worked an extended overhaul. No reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
