Foothills Garage Fire

On November 1st, 2014 around 18:30 Foothills Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire at 425 Vista Ave. in Lookout Mountain. Crews arrived on scene to smoke and fire showing from the garage area of a single-family home. Command quickly requested an engine and tender for mutual-aid from Evergreen Fire Protection District. Crews worked heavy fire conditions with flames that spread to the living area of the home. Additional mutual-aid was requested from Genesee Fire Protection District, Fairmount Fire Protection District & Indian Hills Fire Rescue with tenders for water shuttle. The fire was put under control with heavy smoke damage to the home, and crews worked an extended overhaul. One occupant was able to evacuated before fire crews arrived, and no injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
