Taylor Thyfault Memorial

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Taylor Thyfault was honored on May 29th, 2015 with the community, law enforcement and first responders from all over the state of Colorado and beyond with a large procession and funeral, which was held at the Flatirons Church in Lafayette. Thyfault was investigation a separate accident on May 23rd, 2015 with CSP Trooper Clinton Rushing on Hwy. 66 near Weld County Rd. 1 when they heard about a chase heading their way and Rushing deployed stop sticks to try to catch the tires of the fleeing vehicle, which then swerved to miss the sticks and continue to hit Rushing and then fatally hitting Thyfault. Trooper Rushing was left in critical condition including a fractured pelvis. Thyfault was 21 years-old, and was a 2012 graduate of Windsor High School and a U.S. Army veteran which he served overseas. He is survived by his parents and siblings.
