Brighton Garage Fire

At 12:03 on January 1st, 2019 Brighton Fire Rescue District was alerted by Adcom of a structure fire in the 16000 block of Lomand Circle in Todd Creek with auto-aid from Thornton Fire Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District. Dispatch advised units that 911 callers reporting garage fully involved. Tower 51 en route advising Adcom that heavy smoke showing from Hwy. 7 and to strike a major incident tone. Tower 51 arrived to a small single-story residential structure with heavy fire on the Alpha side, heavy smoke from the roof and stretching a line in for fire attack. Engine 55 established a water supply and used their deck gun in the offensive strategy with fire in the attic. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command, requested 2 additional engines and one medic to the scene. Battalion 61 assigned as safety and Medic 66 as medical. Engine 52 and Engine 66 assisted with fire attack and Engine 76 opened up the gable ends on the roof. Command put the fire under control at 12:44 and crews worked overhaul and hot spots. American Red Cross was called to the scene for displaced residents. Two dogs escaped the home unharmed and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
