I-70 Business Loop Accident

At approximately 12:09 on September 7th, 2019, a Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputy passing through the area pulled up on a single vehicle rollover on I-70 Business Loop Frontage Rd. at Fruitvale Ct. in a ditch on the south side of the road. The deputy notified dispatch and checked for injuries, finding one adult patient conscious, breathing, trapped in the truck which was on its driver’s side in a ditch. Union Pacific train stopped to help while fire and ems were responding. Clifton Fire Protection District Ambulance 22 & Rescue 21 arrived on scene to single vehicle rollover with persons trapped at I-70 Business Loop at Mile Marker 9, west of 30 Road in Grand Junction Fire Department Station 2 first due. Command was established and stabilization was started. An engine company was requested by command from Grand Junction for manpower. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and took over command while Engine 2 assisted Rescue 21 in stabilization and extrication. The trucks roof was cut off to extract the patient and the patient was transported with unknown injuries. The crash is under investigation by the Grand Junction Police Department
