In an effort to assist with fire investigations in the metro area, the South Adams County Fire Department donated a used 2013 GMC pickup truck to the Denver Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit. Denver Fire Technician Scott Renter will use the vehicle to safely and comfortably transport Cora, DFD’s accelerant detection canine. Cora, who was obtained through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, will be available to South Adams County Fire Department when needed and to other agencies when requested by ATF.  The vehicle officially changed hands on July 23rd, 2020, at the Denver Fire Department Training Academy after brief remarks from Denver Fire Department Chief Todd Bower, South Adams County Fire Department Chief Kevin Vincel and blessing from DFD chaplains.  DFD’s new canine vehicle will eventually be unmarked.
