Firefighters conducted engine familiarization, pump operations and practiced quelling simulated wildland fires. ACSO has 19 wildland firefighters under the Office of Emergency Management, three type 6 engines, one 3000 gallon tender and two ATVs. In Colorado, the sheriff is responsible for extinguishing wildland fires on private and state lands within the county.
