
Boulder Pearl Street Second Alarm Fire
2nd Alarm Structure Fire
Around 03:30 on October 19th, 2021 Boulder Police & Fire Communications (9100) alerted Boulder Fire-Rescue Department to a structure fire at 2301 Pearl St. in downtown Boulder. AMR 17 arrived and advised of a working fire on the southwest side with a fully involved building with flames showing. Battalion 2570 enroute requested to full the box with a working fire response. Engine 2503 arrived to a large 3-story fully involved structure from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor and started defensive strategy on the main body of fire, pulled a 2 ½ to the Alpha side for fire attack and established their own water supply. Battalion 2570 arrived on scene and assumed command, requested a 2nd alarm, and assigned AMR 400 as medical group. Crews worked heavy fire conditions and several aerial master stream operations were used before getting the fire under control around 05:40. The fire damaged 83 units in the complex and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
