South Metro Basement Fire

On July 14th, 2021 at 13:31 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 16586 E. Hialeah Dr. in Centennial. Units arrive on scene to find a small fire in the basement and a lot of smoke in the house. Firefighters were able to knock the bulk of the fire with a can. Crews were on scene about an hour mopping up hot spots, checking for extension and ventilating the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Engine 42 was involved in a non-injury motor vehicle accident on Parker Rd. at E. Orchard Rd. while responding to the fire with lights and siren on, more here of the accident: South Metro Engine 42 Accident. The driver of the other vehicle received a citation.
