Clear Creek Canyon Rescue

At 09:57 on June 5th, 2021 Jeffcom (Central Fire Dispatch (CNF) dispatched Golden Fire Department to responded to Hwy. 6 in the Clear Creek Canyon on the east side of Tunnel No. 2 for a steep slope rescue. Crews arrived and found two climbers that were injured and needed to be rescued, and requested mutual-aid from West Metro Fire Rescue for tech rescue and a chopper go. Crews worked several hours to move the two patients off the mountain using a technical rope rescue system and Tower 21. One victim was transported by Flight for Life and the other by Stadium Medical. Hwy. 6 in the Clear Creek Canyon was closed from the month of the canyon to Hwy. 119 for several hours. Additional information provided by Golden Fire Department
