Denver West Tractor Trailer Fire

On May 12th, 2021 at 15:20 JeffCom alerted West Metro Fire Rescue and Pleasant View Fire Department to a reported semi on fire at eastbound I-70 at the Denver West Parkway. Engine 41 arrived to a tractor trailer on fire with heavy involvement and pulled a line for fire attack. Engine 5 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Engine 6 with water supply. Crews worked heavy fire with two attack lines. The fire was put under control at 16:14 and crews strayed on scene for an extended time with overhaul and clean-up of lemons on the highway. The trailer was hauling lemons and I-70 was closed during the fire operations.
