Lands End Wildland Fire
The Lands End 2 Fire occurred on July 8th, 2021 at approximately 13:00. Initial dispatch was Lands End Fire Protection District and Central Orchard Mesa Fire Department auto-aid. Crews arrived to a fast moving fire burning near the Purdy Mesa Reservoir with 80 foot flames and requested additional assistance, initiating structure protection. The fire was approximately 150 acres and command was held by the Mesa County Fire Marshal. Neighborhoods in the area northeast of Lands End Road and Reeder Mesa and Purdy Mesa were evacuation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
