On April 16th, 2021 just after 15:00 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched to the 1500 block of Claremont Ave. on a reported residential structure fire. Pueblo 911 Communications Center dispatchers relayed information to responding crews that the reporting party reported smoke alarms going off and found a bedroom full of smoke and flames were seen on the bed. All parties within the home evacuated safely. Engine 34 arrived on scene and sized up a small single story brick home with nothing showing and took command while investigating. Shortly after they declared a working fire and Engine 33 caught the plug supplying Engine 34 with water. Crews pulled a cross lay and made an aggressive offensive attack and had the fire under control in a short amount of time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
