Allenspark Structure Fire
On March 9th, 2022 at 02:15 Boulder County Communications dispatched Allenspark Fire Protection District to a possible chimney fire at the White River Ranch, 5770 Hwy. 7. Chief 5261 arrived and advised that access to the fire was impassable for fire apparatus due to deep snow pack in the driveway, and the only access for crews would be snow cats or ATV’s. Chief 5261 investigated and found active fire that was in the chimney area and spreading to house. Engine 5201 arrived and started fire attack operations. Mutual-aid was requested from Estes Valley Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District, Lyons Fire Protection District & Hygiene Fire Protection District. All resources that responded were transported up a 0.4 mile driveway via UTV with snow tracks. Firefighters fought the fire with extinguishers, the homeowner garden hose, and the Estes Valley UTV 79 wildland skid unit. Crews got the fire under control around 3:30 and started a extensive overhaul into the late morning.
