Boulder Restaurant Fire

On June 30th, 2022 at 12:18 Boulder Rural Fire Rescue and Boulder Fire-Rescue Department responded to a 4929 Broadway at the Wapos Mexican restaurant located in an unincorporated part of North Boulder for the report of smoke inside. A fill the box request was made to Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatch to send additional units. Battalion 2360 arrived to a working fire and Engine 2501 pulled a pre-connect to the Charlie side for fire attack. Engine 2301 started primary search and Tower 2516 assigned with vertical ventilation. Crews found fire in the attic area and on the roof. The fire put under control at 13:15 and firefighters started an extended overhaul. All occupants were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. The restaurant has significant damage. Broadway was closed from Lee Hill Dr. and Laramie Blvd. during the fire operations. The cause is under investigation by the MAFIT (Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team).
