Second Alarm Defensive Fire

At 14:51 on June 21st, 2022 Mountain View Fire Rescue responded to a ground cover fire at 2890 175th Ave. with mutual-aid request from North Metro Fire Rescue District. Command 2260 arrived to a large working grass fire with structures threatened, and requested a full structure response additional mutual-aid. Engine 66 arrived and started master stream on a debris pile fire between two structures, and requested a tender from Brighton Fire Rescue District. Engine 66 advised that the barn was fully involved with a shed and Bruch 66 started structure protection. Engine 2207 started the water supply on County Rd. 7 and then assisted with defensive fire attack on the structures with Engine 2204. Firefighters backed out to the road due to the fire behavior, and a 2nd alarm structure was requested by command with two additional tenders from Brighton. Engine 2601 arrived and finished the water supply and laid in the driveway to Engine 2207. Engine 63, Brush 63 and Engine 64 arrived and assisted with structure protection. Tender 55 arrived and set-up water operations. The fire was controlled and crews remained on the scene for an extended time due to debris piles.
