Chatfield State Park Water Rescue
On October 1st, 2023 at approximately 13:05 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park. Dispatch advised responding units that a paddleboarder had gone under the water. Firefighters and Park Rangers spent over three hours searching part of the reservoir with boats divers, sonar and a drone. At approximately 4:30pm, Colorado Parks and Wildlife took over command of the scene and called in their Marine Evidence Recovery Team to continue the search.
