Family Fire Muster 2023

On September 23rdth, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue held its annual Family Fire Muster at Station 10 and the Training Center. Demonstrations with a vehicle fire, search and rescue canines, and structure fires were given during the fire muster. The community was also allowed to tour firetrucks and police vehicles. Children were allowed to be a “Firefighter for a Day” and run mini-scenarios, such as running hose, dragging victims, and getting dressed into bunker gear. Lakewood Police and West Metro SWAT had brought out two of their vehicles and gave the community tours of the vehicles. West Metro’s investigation team had brought out drones to provide demonstrations of how the drones are used and had a canine out for the community to meet. Colorado Task Force 1 also brought out one of their canines and held a demonstration on searching for victims. West Metro also showed off their new Tender 6. Centura Health, Colorado State Patrol, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Jeffcom 911, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Lakewood Police Department, Lakewood Parks, Forestry and Open Space, Lakewood Police Department, UC Health, West Metro SWAT, Wheat Ridge Police Department and others also participated in the event.
