Boulder 2nd Alarm Fire

At 01:09 on August 26th, 2024 Boulder Fire-Rescue Department responded to a structure fire at Life Storage, 5815 Arapahoe Ave. Boulder Police & Fire Communications (9100) advised of caller reporting fire from a storage unit with 10 foot tall flames. Engine 2507 arrived and made entry to a large storage facility with several units fully involved and pulled a pre-connect for fire attack. Battalion 2570 arrived and assumed command and assigned Engine 2502 with the water supply to Engine 2507. Tower 2516 assisted with fire attack and Engine 2504 secured a 2nd water supply. Command requested a 2nd alarm and crews worked on the fire for nine hours before knocking the fire down and and an extended overhaul. 14 units were damaged by the fire and an additional 88 units were damaged by smoke and suppression. The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Arapahoe Ave. between 55th St. and Cherryvale Rd. were closed during the fire.
