Lake Shore Fire

On July 31st, 2024 around 14:29 Mountain View Fire Rescue, Louisville Fire Protection DistrictBoulder Fire-Rescue Department and Lafayette Fire Departmen responded to a reported vegetation fire in the 400 block of Lake Shore Drive by the Gross Reservoir in Boulder County. Boulder County Communications (1800) advised that fire in the backyard about 20 feet from two structures. Engine 2210 arrived to a wildland fire and pulled a line in for fire attack with Brush 2230. Command advised to start evacuations in the areas off Flagstaff Rd. with smoke in the air and requested air resources. Engine 2209 arrived with Tender 2240 with fire extending to a home. Several air supports were diverted from the Alexander Mountain Fire. Crews worked fire throughout the night into the next day. The fire burned 7 acres and was 100% contained by August 1st, 2024 and all evacuation orders and road closures were lifted in the area. One home was lost in the fire and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office reported that the fire was likely human-caused and accidental.
